The Canopa delle Acque, part of the Ecomuseum of Argentario, is a medieval mine excavated by hand almost 1,000 years ago and today perfectly preserved. The Argentario area was famous for its silver deposits where miners of Germanic origin called “Canopi” worked. Today it is possible to discover this underground world in complete safety, with helmets, flashlights and a certified guide.

The ancient Mineral park, which was built in 1800, is located in Calceranica and was used to extract iron and pirite. Nowadays you can visit the first part of Leyla gallery and the near museum. The route which connected Bosentino and Vigolo Vattaro and Calceranica was reconstructed. Today this is a nice and easy walk (temporarily closed).
